Research Now is the worlds largest provider of online market research survey completes. They enable to MR industry to complete 10's of thousands of research projects per year. I managed all technology activities. I partnered with an excellent peer group to learn the Market Research industry. I rebuilt an entrepreneurial / innovative technology culture. My team and I built and launched core platforms to automate research delivery and automate panelist recruitment and lifecycle management -- including the first new platforms in nearly a decade. My team and I built a market research product platform that utilized RN's core assets (MR expertise and high quality panelists) to provide customized turnkey research solutions at scale.

Extole is a customer acquisition platform. We allow marketers to acquire a new customers they wouldn't normally have access to, through referral marketing programs at a cost that is competitive their other channels.At Extole, I rebuilt the engineering organization. Post the departure of the founding CEO, I successfully completed a financing round, restructured the company, set and lead the product direction and operated the company for 5 months as we have rebooted. I also helped the board complete a search for a permanent CEO.

Founder and CTO at BlueKai, the largest marketplace for behavioral targeting data on the web as well as the leading Data Management Platform (DMP).I built the engineering organization from inception. I was heavily involved in the product management process. I participated in several fund raising rounds. The systems I and my team built, reliably instrumented billions of customer page view per day and 10's of billions of data transfers. My organization managed several open source, commercial and custom built data stores including a half-petabyte Hadoop instance which delivered industry leading insights and analytics.

Managed approximately half of Yahoo's platform engineering organization, including the Anti-Abuse platform, Performance, Global User Database, Messaging platform, and Tiger (engineering SWAT) teams. Grew the organization to ~80 members.

Built two new teams, from the ground up. One of these teams, Abuse-Prevention, targeted building platforms, services and tools to defend Yahoo's product offerings from attack. The tools set we developed, is industry leading. The other team, Yahoo's Tiger team, is an engineering SWAT team composed of very senior engineers who serve as internal consultants. The emphasis of this team is seniority, technical flexibility and persuation. Built this from zero to 15-20 engineers.

Was responsible for Yahoo's branded advertising delivery platform. Team responsibilities included implementing the targeting platform, log collection and aggregation, delivery smoothing algorithms. Under my leadership my organization built a distributed database for ad delivery state to enable frequency capping, scaled the system by approximately 400%, refined the delivery models and was the innovation leader for the department. During my tenure here, I won a Yahoo SuperStar award for innovation in ad delivery models. In this position, I was responsible for 15-20 person team.

First software engineer at broadcast.com. Grew the team to 15 members. Responsible for advertising systems, log collection and aggregation, web content publishing systems, and streaming media management tool development. Built video archival platform still currently in use.

Software integration consulting. Projects included front-end development of Engineering CAD software, DB aggregations business intelligence systems. Emphasis on C/C++, SQL.
