My interests began in 1984 with the family's first computer, a Commodore 64. My love for computers and programming only grew until I began my career at Cabletron where I learned all about networking and network management. While at Cabletron, I moved from building computers and networks to teaching Cabletron customers as an instructor for their SPECTRUM product. At the end of my time at Cabletron, I was responsible for certifying other instructors in the SPECTRUM group for technical competency. In 1999, I left Cabletron to join my partner Mike to start Plixer. I became very skilled in product design, development, and writing code. My skill set only grew to include managing development teams, product research, NetFlow and IPFIX technologies, SNMP, and more. Additionally, our focus on cybersecurity and incident response added detecting malware and suspicious behaviors, forensic reporting, and threat detection in many types of flow related solutions from collection, storage, reporting, analysis, and behavioral baselines to my technical skills. On the business side, I was very involved in corporate policy, leadership, contract negotiations, staffing, business management, company strategy and execution, and program management. After we sold the company to Battery Ventures in March 2018, I remained with the company to help the new leadership take it to the next level.
Listed skills include Snmp, Mysql, Perl, Netflow, and 19 others.
