ResponsibilitiesEach week during the spring, Camp Sealth has student school and recreation groups come to Camp seeking environmental education or lessons in other activities. It is my job to lead and teach classes of 15-18 individuals of K-12 students. My teammates and I have the flexibility to design new material and tweak existing material. As a group and as individuals, we have the responsibility to uphold quality environmental education and recreation classes. Our programs range from marine touch tanks, forest/wetland, archery, outdoor living skills, field games/challenge course, and arts and crafts. Additional duties include facilitating student orientations, meals, transition times, evening activities, as well as basic cleaning and kitchen duties. AccomplishmentsCamp is a place where children can step outside of their comfort zone, learn new things about the world around them as well as within themselves. My role as their educator puts me in a position where I am a role model to the young students. I impact the way they think about things and bring to light new ideas that they may not have thought of before. I also have a positive impact in the team of 4 other environmental educators. I enjoy bringing new ideas to the table and being an all around team player. Skills UsedThis position has allowed for the growth of many skills including teamwork and collaboration, interpersonal recognition, leadership, flexibility, patience, time management, and passion.

My responsibilities included prioritizing regulatory wetland mitigation maintenance and site assessments on up to 20 sites. I monitored biological features on these sites including the progression of native and invasive plants, water patterns, fauna use, as well as human impacts. Knowledge of wetland ecology was critical in this position. I learned how to use CountyView (GIS) to create maps displaying invasive plant cover, different wetland communities, and oak habitat. Additional duties included maintaining the County vehicle, tools, and equipment.
