Directed technological interests of the non-profit organization with the aim of introducing new and emerging technologies to the medical and non-governmental organizations (NGO) communities. Developed detailed technology architecture and deployment plans for research and development activities that were aimed at introducing new tools and services for medical and NGO organizations. Led technology research in areas including online applications, wireless and mobile applications, low-cost medical simulators, RFID enhanced environments, and serious games.Developed prototype of a mobile application designed to provide basic health information and service to at risk populations. The prototype was developed using Macromedia Flash Lite and incorporated 3G technologies such as streaming video and other media.Assisted in the production of DVD-based training materials which included video sequences, serious games, and interactive testing of the user’s relevant knowledge.

Technical involvement on a high-profile project by the Los Angeles Department of Health to evaluate the Martin Luther King, Jr. Emergency Department that was aimed at providing recommendations designed to revamp and save the Emergency Department from closure. Analyzed organization and communications within the Emergency Department, design and deployment of a partially paperless charting and patient flow system. Enabled the Emergency Department to increase in-patient bed space by 40% with correlated increase in output and quality of care.Managed multimedia medical conference at the Martin Luther King Hospital. Deliverables included the creation of digital content and deployment of an online presence.

Designed, developed, and implemented a content management system. The content management system was driven by a business need to accelerate the content update process. Due to the obsolete Legacy web platform, content upgrades required full system reboots in order to take effect. The implemented content management system eliminated the need to reboot the system, and was capable of propagating changes across all web servers. Assisted in reorganizing the IT department to adjust for an offshore team based in India. By leveraging previous experience with IBM offshore teams, I was able to add significant value to this initiative. Implemented recommendations included personnel reporting chain, horizontal communication between onsite developers and offshore team, and design standards.
