Global Visioneering is an annual prize design discovery process led by XPRIZE GrandChallenge Area experts (Domain Leads) and Brain Trust members (world-renownedinnovators, thought leaders, industry experts, and entrepreneurs) to solicit radicalmoonshot ideas for further development and fundraising.Throughout this process, Brain Trust members chart a path from vision to breakthrough bydeveloping prize competitions that can overcome the barriers along the way. Deep Tech Advisor for the AMNH's NYC Science Research Consortium

WeBWork is an open-source online homework system for STEM courses. WeBWorK is supported by the MAA and the NSF and comes with a Open Problem Library (OPL) of over 35,000 homework problems. Formed in 2018, The WeBWorK Project (TWP) is a large volunteer community that supports the WeBWorK open source software. Members of TWP contribute new questions and features to WeBWorK, curate the open problem library, respond to help requests on the forum, and communicate WeBWorK advancements and research at conferences and in university settings.Responsibilities:• Executive Board member, aide in the development of community relationships. Organize and advertise events and conferences. • Present at national and international conferences to bring awareness to the project.

Supported by CUNY Central OER and LibreTexts funding, our faculty fellows have been diligently collecting, curating and aligning CUNY-wide WeBWorK content with open source texts for the benefit of all. Our collaboration encompasses City Tech, BMCC, City College, LaGuardia, BCC, Queensborough CC, Queens College, the greater WeBWorK community including the WebWorK Project (TWP) and industry partners.Responsibilities:• Cultivated cross-institutional relationships to build a partnership across CUNY campuses to build and publish open source math curriculums to utilize across each campus. • Developed models for OER software development including best practices, coordinated cross campus activities, recruited participants. • Secured funding for the project and provide oversight on administration.

City Tech has an enrollment of more than 17,000 students in over 66 baccalaureate, associate, and specialized certificate programs including several engineering technology fields as well as architecture, construction, nursing, hospitality management, entertainment technology, dental hygiene, vision care technology, technology teacher training and paralegal training. Non-degree continuing education is also offered, and serves approximately 14,000 students each year. City Tech is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.Responsibilities:• Educate undergrad and previously grad students in mathematical concepts, writing intensive and interdisciplinary courses. • Prepare curriculums, set office hours and serve as an advisor and mentor to students guiding them in their academic journey and career options. • Increase student engagement and success utilizing technology. • Participant of a team to create digital course hubs, and code/administer online final exams to support faculty teaching remotely.• Co-authored an open source textbook available on Libretexts with over 2.5K downloads. • Participant of a team to increase student users on the WeBWork platform, successfully increased from few hundred to 10k within 2 years.• Serve on department, campus, institutional wide and PhD committees. • Research math, physics and teaching topics and publish articles and books.

The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) program encourages courses throughout the college to incorporate formal and informal writing into the course practices and requirements.Responsibilities:• Designed and launched a digital writing intensive certification program for faculty.• Recruited, interviewed and hired fellows from various backgrounds to develop and teach writing-intensive courses. Coordinated the pairing of fellows and faculty. • Facilitated writing workshops and professional development training on topics such as: “Effective Assignment Design,” “Designing Writing Intensive Syllabi,” “Avoiding Plagiarism,” and “Note-taking Strategies.”• Communicated with the Provost of the campus on the status and outcomes of the program. • Created online and in-person writing intensive certification program to improve and enhance the program.

The mission of the Committee on Technologies in Mathematics Education is to synthesize and disseminate innovative research, resources, and practices on technology that lead to effective teaching and learning in undergraduate mathematics.

“Opening Gateways to Completion: Open Digital Pedagogies for Student Success in STEM” is a 5-year, $3.2 million grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions program (Title V). The goal is to support student success in mathematics courses that serve as gateways to STEM disciplines, courses that often act as barriers to progress and completion in these disciplines. The project, awarded jointly to the New York City College of Technology (lead) and the Borough of Manhattan Community College (partner) in 2015, brings the two institutions together in a cross-campus collaboration that will introduce open-source digital technologies, open educational resources, and active learning pedagogies into the sequence of high-enrollment mathematics courses required for STEM disciplines at each college.Responsibilities:• Drafted a grant proposal to develop best practice models for STEM student across two CUNY campuses. • Designed seminar with key personnel for high stakes gateway math courses making courses more engaging while incorporating new pedagogies. • Coordinate campus activities, recruit participants, engage more students and assess outcomes while managing the administration of the seminar.• Served as acting director for one grant year.
