Mark leverages his education, decades of global manufacturing operational experience and extensive international network to provide unique value in all facets of global lifesciences and MedTech manufacturing. Most recently, Mark was selected and served as the manufacturing, supply chain, scale-up expert and steering panel member for the NIH RaDx program to accelerate the scale-up of POC COVID19 rapid tests during the pandemic. Mark currently serves as an Independent Expert Board (IEB) member for the National Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) Point-of-Care Technologies Research Network (POCTRN) program, providing strategic oversight and recommendations to accelerate commercial translation and clinical impact.In his early career, Mark worked for several major medical device OEM’s in engineering and operations before co-founding APEC, a medical device contract manufacturer. Mark and his partner built APEC organically from the ground up, and sold it to Freudenberg Medical in 2007. He established Bonifacio Consulting Services (BCS) soon after. Today, Mark and BCS assists organizations in business growth, strategy and tactical execution, M&A, joint ventures and licensing. He also advises on cost-reduction initiatives, due diligence, operational and organizational improvements. Notable clients include OEM's like Medtronic, Dexcom, Hologic, Avanos, Millipore, PE Clients like Water St., APAX, Wendel, Onex, Genstar and CM's that include Carlisle, TE Connectivity, Viant, Tekni-plex, Philips-Medisize among others. With a B.S. in Plastics engineering from the University of Lowell (now UMASS-Lowell), Mark brings deep engineering and operational expertise along with an entrepreneurial drive. and a deep industry network. Mark is well-known in medical device manufacturing, injection molding and LSR molding and is a regular speaker and contributor for industry events and publications. Mark currently serves on the UMASS Lowell Plastics Engineering Advisory Board.In addition to BCS, Mark serves as a Board Member and Board advisor to Polyvisions, and Duke Empirical.Bonifacio is also a founding partner in MedAsia Manufacturing, a small med CM focused on tooling and pilot production in Shanghai, China.
