Mr Ncube has a mechanical engineering building services design background and experience spanning over 14 years. He began his career with Network Building Services Engineers (NBSE) as a draughting intern in Zimbabwe. He later relocated to South Africa, to join Mikosi and Associates, and further joined SPK Engineers in Richards Bay as a Mechanical Draughtsman for both firms. He then went on to be part of Selanya Consulting Engineers in Johannesburg, as Senior Technical CAD Draughtsman and eventually, Rivoningo Consulting Engineers, where he has practised as a Mechanical Design Draughtsman in the building services consulting field for more than 5 years to date. He has worked on a range of high pressure and prestigious building projects such as housing developments, clinics, hospitals, restaurants, malls, and office blocks. Some of the projects Mbonisi has completed include Dann Hauser & Pomeroy Community Health Centres, The Addington, Manguzi and Ngwelezane MDR Isolation Hospital wards in KZN, Selope Thema Clinic, Dukatole Clinic, Laager and John Kani Theatres in Newtown, Driehoek Office Block, Nissan Incubation Facility at Rosslyn, Telkom Tower Lukasrand Renovations, ATNS Head Office Block C Refurbishments, GPAA Refurbishments, the ReaVaya BRT Stations (Section 8 & 15), 1947 Restaurant on Vilakazi Street, Moja Café Sandton City and Southgate Malls, Lesego Private Hospital, Nkomazi Private Hospital, Burgersfort Private Hospital, University of Johannesburg New Science and Engineering Building in Doornfontein, amongst others.
