Research and development includes interdisciplinary projects ranging from robotic automation of combinatorial libraries to clinical translation of NIR fluorophores. Responsibilities include maintenance and oversight of laboratory equipment, documenting standard operating procedures, process optimization, and contributing to team oriented projects.

Performed teaching fellow tasks for "Engineering Mechanics I" and "Introduction to Photonics" courses. Responsibilities included student tutoring, grading, and communication to course professor.

A member of an interdisciplinary undergraduate team, supported by an NSF-IRES grant, that focused on the research of liquid crystals. Research facilities include the Non-Linear Optics Laboratory at Allegheny College and the Center for Optics and Solid State Physics at the Hungarian Academy of Science. Highlights include an oral presentation at the 1st NSF-OTKA Symposium for Complex Fluids in Eger, Hungary and an independent research thesis titled: "An investigation on dual easy axes substrates on nematic liquid crystal systems". Research was completed under the direction of Dr. David Statman.

Performed research and development on catalytic combustible gas sensors under the direction of Dr. Chuan-Bao Wang. Projects included evaluation of prototype LEL sensors and mobile GC systems.Performed research and development of electrochemical gas sensors under the direction of Dr. Wenfeng Peng. Projects included development of miniaturization of carbon monoxide sensors for prototype handheld devices.
