Mark is an audit partner based in Grant Thornton’s Los Angeles office. Mark brings experience in serving many diverse organizations and has developed a well-rounded service record. Mark joined the Los Angeles office in the summer of 2013 after serving a multiple year international assignment in Beijing as the U.S. resident technical director for the China member firm of Grant Thornton International. Previously, he spent thirteen years in the San Francisco Bay Area primarily serving entities that operated within the high tech industry.Mark has significant experience with entities that file with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as privately held companies with global operations. He has experience with registration statements with both domestic and foreign filers. His experience also includes servicing companies who own and license intellectual property, including technology companies and one of the largest U.S. sports associations. In addition to servicing his clients, Mark has been affiliated with several practice reviews of worldwide Grant Thornton International member firms, ensuring and promoting global audit quality.

Based in Beijing, Mark was Grant Thornton’s U.S. Resident Technical Review Director in China. He has significant experience with entities that file with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as privately held companies with global operations. As the U.S. Audit Services Director, Mark was responsible for the supervision of the US GAAP work performed throughout China by the China member firm of Grant Thornton International. His responsibilities include ensuring that aspects of US GAAP, AICPA and PCAOB auditing standards were adhered to with a focus on the quality of the work and timely completion of all deliverables. Mark was designated as a member of Grant Thornton’s International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) specialist team. He has gained knowledge through advanced training and hands on experience managing the audits of multiple US located subsidiaries which are owned by one of Asia’s largest internet companies.Mark returned to the US firm in July of 2013.
