Continuously working with operations and product development teams on keeping and improving platform performance.- Evaluating and introducing performance monitoring tools, like Catchpoint, SOASTA, Rigor and WebPagetest.- Improving real-user monitoring.- Improving visibility on issues with third-party libraries.- Improving general platform service monitoring done with Prometheus/Grafana and Elasticsearch/Kibana.- Observing general platform performance and acting upon problems. Working with operations and product development teams on fixing performance problems.- Improving CDN (Content Delivery Network) configurations, like configuration of Fastly or AKAMAI CDN.- Looking for possible performance improvements, like image optimizations, and conducting improvements alone or with product teams depending on the complexity.- Getting new developments in the performance field into the platform, like HTTP/2, WebP, Brotli, etc..- Working on introducing processes and tools that serve to achieve a continuously better platform performance, like Cloudinary, etc..- Running a weekly "Friends of Site Speed" group in order to talk about performance topics, prioritize performance problems and work together on finding solutions.
