I am a dynamic, result-driven senior HR generalist with a particular expertise in (and enthusiasm for) employee relations. My career history spans the media, leisure, healthcare (NHS) and retail sectors, and I have in-depth international HR experience. I have been CIPD qualified for over ten years (Chartered MCIPD) and additionally I am a qualified and practicing workplace coach and mediator, passionate about supporting people with managing conflict positively and having courageous conversations.Key achievements:• Overhauled processes, communications and the “way we do business” within the Imperial College NHS Trust People & OD team to align with a just and learning culture, reducing disciplinary hearings by 31% year-on-year and resolving two thirds of misconduct cases informally• Successfully piloted a departmental cultural review process at Imperial, identifying themes and recommendations and enabling management at Imperial to address issues around workplace culture, behaviours and working relationships• As the newly appointed head of the BBC’s Mediation service, rebooted and relaunched the service by trebling the pool of mediators and actively promoting the service to stakeholders across the organisation, leading to a threefold increase in mediation requests within two years and an overall reduction in employee grievances. • Designed and executed a restructure to merge digital expertise with more traditional linear ways of working across the whole of the BBC Radio division, laying the framework for the launch of BBC Sounds.• Led the HR aspects of the closure of the BBC Trust, including redundancy consultation, TUPE transfer of employees to Ofcom; successfully redeployed all remaining employees who wanted to stay with the organisation. • Devised and implemented a cultural and organisational change programme in BBC Japan that enabled the Tokyo office to modernise output and ways of working, successfully negotiating and agreeing employee exits against the backdrop of complex Japanese employment legislation.
