Universal Office Products was incorporated in 2002 by my business partner Stever Manley and I. We are both ex Corporate Express employees and decided to leave to set up our own business. We have grown organically and our main focus is to exceed our customers expectations, whilst giving all members within our team the opportunity to develop & grow. My career has been one of progression from Internal Sales Representative to latterly as UK Director of Call Centre Management. I had direct responsibility for over 150 heads as well as full P & L responsibility for the full UK SOHO categorised market with financial responsibility in excess of £22million.Promoted to position of Regional Sales Director after the acquisition of Universal Office Supplies by Burhmann, the world’s largest supplier of office products, employing 19000 people with a turnover of 7 billion euros. Gained invaluable experience during the integration process and was involved in the change of Management process, Business consolidation & centralisation.• Developed and implemented Direct sales strategy within the SOHO market sector • Result: Inherited £1.3k million turnover which after 3 years had grown to £7.4k million. • Introduced new ‘best practice’ working approaches and related training for all sales staff.• Retained all Management Team and continued to motivate during implementation of new structure/strategy. Effective communication through the creation of workshops allowed the Management Team involvement and ownership of the new strategy. • Result: Complete understanding of expectations from the new strategy and a consistent approach of managing the whole customer service/sales process and re-engineering of the who customer focus.• Introduced new demanding Minimum Standards of Performance.• Result: Increased levels of customer proactive/reactive activity with improved sales & margin profitability for the company.• Delivered sales growth of £6.1k million within 4 years.• Won the prestigious “Sales Person of the Year” award for Universal Office Supplies/Corporate Express in 1998.

Started as an office trainee & quickly was elevated to internal sales looking after all Corporate & Key accounts internally working closely with the Sales Manager. After Spending 2 years in this role I was then given full responsibility for all internal sales Operations.
