The majority of my work at Valk Digital goes into our Elixir Phoenix applications.Currently we are building our own self-ordering app to be used for roomservice and certain restaurant/bar area's. We retrieve data from the different POS systems via their API's, parse it to match our model, enable certain users to manage and edit the data, allow guests to order via a QR code, implement a payment provider and finally create the order in the POS system.Meanwhile features are stil being added to the backend for an application running on self-checkout terminals in unmanned convenience shops, including features such as a backoffice dashboard to manage the shops and their products.In the Valk Digital App development team, we build and maintain a number of mobile and web applications, serving both our hotel guests, as well as our hotel staff. These apps are the place where room- & restaurant bookings, roomservice, payments, room cleaning & maintenance come together.Other teams facilitate the website, marketing (email, social & print), advertising and offer support for our services to guests and hotel staff of all hotels in the Van Der Valk Exclusief group.

At Cryptotrader I have gained hands on experience at a high pace. After exploring the entire TypeScript codebase, while implementing Cypress end-to-end tests, it didn’t take long before I was working on bug fixes and adding new features to both the frontend & the rather complex NestJS backend.Cryptotrader is an algorithmic trading platform for cryptocurrencies that allows automating your trading strategies via a flexible, built-in scripting language. Cryptotrader supports backtesting, paper trading, and live trading algorithmic bots.
