Trained as property and conveyancing solicitor in a general practice where I represented the County Council in complex conveyancing transactions. In particular, this included acting in all Compulsory Purchase/Land Acquisitions in the County of Leitrim and advising the County Council in relation to Tenant Purchase Schemes and County Council Mortgages. Furthermore, I represented private clients in purchasing both their homes and further investment properties, including mixed use developments. I also acted on behalf of international clients purchasing investment properties in this jurisdiction. Following my traineeship and subsequent qualification in 2010, I was approached by and worked for some of the leading financial institutions in Ireland, including KBC, Allied Irish Banks plc and Investec plc. I held senior positions in these financial institutions for the last 6 years, specialising in advising on conveyancing issues arising in relation to title deeds and mortgage drawdowns. This allowed me to gain an intimate and rare insight into how financial institutions view difficulties with title and what their specific requirements are to remedy the problem, so as to enable a transaction to proceed.
