Bilingual social worker applying problem-solving skills empowering clients to utilize their local community resources and services. Currently, a Post Release Services Case Manager working with immigrant youth and unaccompanied minors reuniting with their sponsor connecting them to their community resources and services. Experienced managing a private school, working with the State of Washington in Child Protective Services, assessing youth and family needs, education, serving communities with resources, and case management. Certified in Mental Health First Aid, trained in SAPST, CPR certified. 400+ hours of Regional Core Training through DCYF.––––In Nov. 2022, I accepted a job as a behavioral specialist enabling the decision to pack my car and drive across the country with my pitbull and cat. From Houston, Texas to Seattle, Washington, despite never visiting north of California and not knowing a single person on the West Coast, the PNW called out to me. New opportunities presented themselves and I took a chance on all of them. My position as campus coordinator has focused on strategic planning, building relationships with families and students, managing a team of experienced teachers, coordinating with specialists, and handling concerns with proper solutions. It's prepared me to embrace the learning curve and take on challenging roles. After working in education for years focusing my field practicum on it, I've decided to pursue other interests that lead me to my passion of working with immigrant youth. I hold a passion for immigration, children and families, the LGBTQIA+ community, and helping better the lives of others. In my free time, I like to do photography and hike a new trail each weekend with my dogs– Kiwi and Yamz– while capturing amazing views (ex. the cover photo of beautiful Mt. Rainer from the top of Mt. Si). Photography page: @pixlated.photo
