Clinical Rotation: Adult Medical-Surgical (60 hours)

Serve as a mentor to Emory pre-health students through 1 on 1 in-person or virtual appointments & plan & host pre-health workshops to expose Emory students to a variety of health-related careers.

Create friendly environment for department guests/faculty by welcoming them, assisting in scanning/copying services, & restocking supplies, help coordinate department events under staff supervision by participating in all aspects of events, such as set-up and clean-up, & practice vital organizational skills by creating an organizational system within department closets to ensure event readiness.

Assisted in meeting children's diverse needs, including feeding & clothing changing, performed classroom responsibilities, such as sweeping, setting up for naps, & emptying trash, patiently helped facilitate children conflict, & created a comforting space to ensure children safety.

Participated in Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Program for 10 weeks, joined intense oral history trainings with SURE mentor Dr. Rodriguez & Emory oral historians, engaged with a variety of scholarly articles that touched on themes of immigration, healthcare & labor, used oral history skills to interview Latina farmworkers during research trip to Pierson, FL, & presented individual research project on preventive & environmental health among Latina farmworkers at annual SURE symposium.
