I have coordinated a number of projects involving the design and implementation of thematic statistical information systems:1) ORCA (regional observatory on housing). Conceptual design of the technological platform; source and end-user analysis; coordination of the design and implementation of a management software for data acquisition; coordination of the development of data presentation layers; coordination of sub-contracted activites. SISFOR (statistical information system for regional forest management). SISFOR is a datawarehouse that elaborates indicators and statistics which aid forest management and planning activities in Sardinia.CONSULTA LE STATISTICHE: design, engineering, development of a web-based internet tool to access and retrieve regional statistical data.SITRA: Transport Information System for the Sardinian Regional Government. Main aim of the project was to reconcile scattered and differently structured archives and databases on public transport data into a unique RDBMS, with the aim to produce statistical data for regional planning and to more efficiently manage the information on transport. My role was to design, engineer, and partly develop the front end and back end tools for data management and data publication

The addition of Systematica to the name of the Firm marks the continuity with the previous activity and the strong bond that exists between the two Firms.

Catch Project, 7th Framework Programme, European Commission. Catch is a trusted and credible open-knowledge platform to bring local authorities and city managers closer to global mechanisms designed to reduce transport GHG emissions. My job consisted in the coordination of a work package, preparation of deliverables, attendance to meetings, participation in conferences. I also designed and partly developed two web-based tools to benchmark cities’ environmental performance as part of the whole knowledge platform. Tripoli Masterplan: demand modelling and estimation activities in a major urban masterplanning project Libyan's largest city.Masdar Project, first carbon-neutral planned city, UAE. My role was to coordinate all modelling activities, design and run all models concerning the dimensioning and performance of Masdar’s internal transport system, and of the Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) in particular. During the work I proposed a brand new way of measuring the LOS for PRT systems (also inserted later in a publication). I also gave a contribution to the setting out of the PRT technical specifications for the MIST 1A procurement bid, and to the technical evaluation of bidding system providers.

I was part of a team of transport modellers which was responsible for Traffic Assessments studies and models within projects of urban development planning. Main works carried out: Doha North Beach Project: Traffic assessment for a new residential (100k inhabitants) and business settlement in Doha (Qatar); Omega Business Park: Traffic assessment for a new business settlement (25k workers) in Warrington (Uk). I worked in a team of planners and modellers within the Cagliari County Master Plan Office. My main role was to carry out analyses on private, public and freight transport data. The job included also the development of a GIS-based accessibility model for the region. I contributed to the delivery of guidelines on transport development policies and to assess their future implications on sustainability.

Development, calibration, and validation of a trip generation model using linear and non-linear regression models on transport and socio-economic variables. The project was carried out in the context of the Sardinian Regional Transport Plan.

My main role was to design, engineer, and run several multi-criteria models to assess the compatibility of transport infrastructural projects within regional natural protected areas regulations.
