Managed a patent portfolio licensing company based on patents issued under the previous business AudioFax, Inc. The company's patent assets contained several pioneering patents on the inventions developed and manufactured into products owned by my former company, AudioFax. This company established a licensing team and new approach to patent licensing which was considered innovative in the IP industry at that time. This approach resulted in over 50 licenses over a 10 year period.Companies who were granted licenses to the patent portfolio, include, but are not limited to, AT&T, MCI,Sprint, Cable and Wireless, Cisco, 3Com, J2, and Xpedite.In 2006, the company's patent portfolio was sold to a public company J2, a licensee of the patents.

Founded company that pioneered and patented the base methods and technologies used in computer based faxing otherwise known as "fax-store and forward", "fax on demand", "fax mailbox", and variations of "fax-to-email". The company manufactured large scale central office (CO) enhanced fax platforms used by the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs) that formed after the break up of AT&T in 1984. Hundreds of millions of users worldwide have used and are using these technologies or variations thereof from a wide variety of providers based on the patented inventions.Early achievements include being granted over ten US patents for the company's underlying fax inventions. The company developed the very first commercially available multi-port voice and fax integrated circuit card. This became a technology building block in the manufacture of large scale multi-port enhanced fax services platforms. The company was successful in selling product to the major telecom service providers, including five of the seven Bell operating companies.The business was sold to a publicly traded enhanced communications services company located in Atlanta Ga. in 1996.As the founder of the company, I was involved in all aspects of the business, including, executive management, product, manufacturing, intellectual property, marketing, sales and licensing.

Parrot Communications, Inc. – I founded this company in Atlanta Ga., that went on to develop and manufacture one of the first transportable cellular phones. As a technology pioneer in the transportable cellular telephone space, our first phone debuted at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 1984.Less than ten MSAs in the U.S. had live cellular service when the phone was first launched to the market. The phones were manufactured in Seoul Korea, assembled with the General Electric Star cellular radio in the U.S. and sold through the General Electric Mobile Radio dealer network nationwide. The company was later sold to General Electric Mobile Radio Division, headquartered in Lynchburg Virginia in 1985. GE continued to sell the phone through its distribution network until being replaced with GE's first "hand-held" cellular phone. I was involved in all aspects of the company including company formation, product design, manufacturing, marketing, distribution and sales.
