• Led a cross-functional team of 4-6 Engineers in the development of a new product (Konux Network) that enabled Network Rail (NR) to reduce track inspections by 25% by providing accurate estimates of actual track usage: - Designed data model to merge many low quality data sources from NR to build single mapping between train journeys and rail infrastructure. - Calculated the actual track usage by ingesting and processing 1,000,000’s of train observations from NR message queues through data pipelines & microservices. - Developed frontend and backend to serve visual representation of track usage data. - Set up and managed deployment and monitoring of services on kubernetes and developed Terraform code for managing infrastructure components on AWS• Demonstrated that Konux Network gave improvements of tonnage estimates up to 300% through validation of the system against multiple data sources: - Designed a method to test the accuracy of our system without any ground truth available. - Worked with NR Central Authority to show that their previous estimates had significant errors & validated that our new system was accurate and could be used by engineers.• Brought stakeholders across new product teams together and drove development of combined Product/Engineering strategy for 2024.• Mentored junior team members through 1on1s, pairing and PRs to improve their software development skills, share best practices and enable them to become responsible for increasing scope of design and development tasks.

I established Sterling Hire Ltd. while at university with the aim of providing low cost rentals of executive cars to firms and independent drivers in the private hire industry. The company grew to having one private hire firm and several independent drivers as customers. The size of the fleet grew to 20 cars operated by a single private hire firm and the company was sold in 2016 for £50,000. The company was entirely established and run by myself which encompassed the following duties:• Establishment of company and registration and compliance with relevant regulatory bodies.• Design and implementation of business plan.• Writing of rental contracts for different customer types.• Brand design and marketing.• Arrangement of purchase and financing of vehicles.• Bookkeeping and general account maintenance.

I worked with the Williams F1 team during my Year in Industry. My work was mainly carried out in the Prototype & Test department and my main roles and duties are summarised below:• Carried out, analysed data and wrote reports on Proof Tests and Research & Development projects on pit and car components.• Carried out set up, programming and operation of single and multi-axis servo hydraulic rigs.• Designed and built bespoke rig for new test, leading the optimization and troubleshooting while advising engineers on best direction for the test.• Wrote standalone MATLAB programs to pass off and analyse wheel gun performance.• Assumed leading role in tests requiring multiple technicians.• Managed simultaneous tests ensuring that resources were maximized to provide quality results on time.• Trained work experience and apprentice students to work in the department.• Conducted tests for external customers, collaborating with both customers and in-house engineers.
