About Christopher Mccloud
Sometime in 2014 I was introduced to programming by a friend, and immediately fell in love. My first introduction to programming was through the MIT OCW introduction to programming course using Structure and Interpretations of Computer Programming, which I enjoyed so much that I completed from cover to cover, and to this day Scheme, Emacs, and the entire Lisp family of programming languages hold a special place in my heart. After attending and then working for Hack Reactor, which was at the time the most competitive coding bootcamp in the San Francisco Bay Area, I left work for personal reasons and traveled to South America, eventually settling in Colombia, where I've since worked mostly in a non-engineering capacity while also learning Spanish and immersing myself in the culture. Still, I never got rid of the itch for programming and used my time to continue to develop my skills, working on open source projects (particularly within the Emacs ecosystem), I am now once again looking to work full time as a software engineer.

From late 2020 until early 2022 I worked with Rob and Tatiana, among others, in bringing Legends of Medellín to life. My official title was that of producer, but as it was a small project in a chaotic filming environment, we all wore a lot of hats. My principal responsibilities were:- Securing funding, primarily through two fundraising campaigns on Indiegogo.- Scouting onsite film locations. When filming in some of the less advantaged neighborhoods, known in Medellín as 'Estrato 1', verifying ahead of time that our film crew would be welcomed by the locals was especially important, as there still exists a great deal of distrust towards outsiders, and especially for outsiders taking photos and videos.- Script Writing and Editing. The project was primarily filmed as a series of interviews with prominent members of local communities, but as the project developed, it was our job to take these disparate stories and put them together into an overarching narrative about the city and history of Medellín.- On-Site and remote technical support as needed.
