About Patrick Mccormack

Patrick was born and educated in Wexford, and qualified as a pharmacist in 1988 from Trinity College. He received a diploma in retail management in 1989, and worked in USA ,UK and the Middle East before joining the Sam McCauley Chemist Group in 1991. He also holds a diploma in Applied Finance from IMI . He worked as a pharmacist from 1991 with the Sam McCauley Chemist Group before becoming a shareholder in 1996. He then progressed to Joint CEO in 2003 and was appointed Managing Director /CEO in 2007. The Sam McCauley Chemist Group is the largest 100% Irish owned pharmacy group and currently has in excess of 550 employees in 30 stores.Following the acquisition of the Sam McCauley Group by Carlyle Cardinal Ireland in August 2017 Patrick decided after 26 years to look at exciting new challenges . He is currently CEO of Cara Pharmacy group
