Assistant/Interim Superintendent of a 500 staff member and $ 47 million PK-12 district. Responsible for core daily functions of curriculum, instruction, student services, and technology. As assistant superintendent and cabinet member, involved in day-to-day operations, including but not limited to - community involvement, board/policy management, innovation of programs, professional development of staff, student services, special education services, MTSS, state/federal programming, PLC process, technology, and media.

Responsible for curriculum and instructional tools for 13,000 students, professional development and instructional practices of 900 educators, and overall academic well-being of the greater Kalamazoo area. Developed community partnerships, pivoted to fully online learning for one continuous school year, and maintained growth and learning during a turbulent academic time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Leading positive change in Standards Based Learning, Technology, and all things Teaching and Learning K-12 at Schoolcraft Community Schools. Reached #1 school district in Kalamazoo County for state testing scores across all grades and subjects. Mentored and coached K-12 teaching staff and administration.

Teach to Lead teams worked on innovations in schools, districts, states and at the national level. We covered a wide range of topics from specifically creating teacher leadership systems that can connect to the community, to better serving students from specific high needs groups or improving instruction and student programming in a variety of ways. The most important aspect of our Teach to Lead event was that educators had the opportunity to craft the solutions to the problems they see standing in the ways of best serving all students while networking with powerful and supportive critical friends throughout the industry, business, higher education and policy-making fields.
