Was my honor and privilege to be part of the team at the semiconductor company Silicon Valley legend John H. Hall founded in 1987. Led the company to a record eight years of consecutive annual revenue growth after becoming president. Linear Integrated Systems, Inc., designs and produces the lowest-noise JFETs for audio, test/measurement, military, medical and other applications, as well as replacements for 2,000 other small-signal discrete components. Reoriented the company from a second-source component supplier to a design-in, industry leader for ultra-low-noise semiconductors. Conceived and led the creation of the largest sub-nanovolt noise discrete part testing operation in the world to enable large-scale ultra-low-noise part screening.

Directly led R&D, sales/marketing, proposal development, product development, media relations, and lobbying activities. Led the growth of revenue from $595,000 in 2004 to $8.3 million in 2007 using no external financing, with the company named in 2008 the 200th Fastest Growing in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine. Conceived and helped execute two DARPA-funded R&D efforts and was granted a patent as sole inventor for work on one of these projects. Traveled extensively through North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia for business development. Contributed to sales of over 12,000 systems, capturing market lead for five years from competitors such as IBM.

Conducted specialized R&D and application studies; wrote project-specific business development plans and proposals for government and commercial projects in the U.S., Asia and the Former Soviet Union.Provided analyst support to SAF/FMM (the financial management deputy to the Air Force Comptroller) on joint programs such as the CV/V-22. Developed and conducted an integrated financial/production/performance review of the CV-22.Wrote papers on advanced technologies in areas such as explosives detection and speaker verification for use in gaining government understanding and acceptance. Made all story assignments, selected national and international wire service stories, and wrote in-depth features. Traveled to the former East Germany as part of the first group of western journalists given access to military facilities.
