I convene stakeholders to understand gaps, and create programs and initiatives that create lasting impact, while connecting people in industry, academia and government to speed innovation. At Polaris MEP, I helped Rhode Island manufacturers become more profitable and competitive, creating new service offerings and generating nearly $600K in new business for Polaris MEP in 2 years. Concurrently, I worked with textile industry, academia and government leaders to create the Rhode Island Textile Innovation Network, identifying needs and opportunities, developing collaborative relationships and creating programming. Prior to working with Polaris MEP, I led Rhode Island Students of the Future (www.risf.net), an organization that promotes STEAM engagement with youth robotics, through a period of exceptional growth: securing our 501c3 designation, building a solid core of funding, doubling the number of participating teams and making it my mission to increase the number of girls who are developing skills in engineering and computer science. In 2015, when I stepped down, 40% of the students on Rhode Island's FIRST LEGO League teams are elementary and middle school girls, a high percentage for a STEAM robotics program. I'm an enthusiastic and creative strategic thinker who maximizes available resources to achieve goals. As a convener and facilitator, I lead by listening, gathering and synthesizing information to understand the big picture, identify where organizations can add value, and then build impactful initiatives and programs.
