General Manager Middle East for International Development Ireland Ltd. (IDI), based in Abu Dhabi UAE. Responsible for all IDI operations and projects in the Middle East region. IDI was established in 1989 by the economic development agencies of Ireland to provide practical knowledge to support the development of emerging markets. IDI specialises in working on practical implementation based projects with clients around the world completing projects in 80 different countries.

Joined International Development Ireland (IDI) as a Senior Consultant in February 2011 focusing on economic development in the Middle East. First assignment was a full time placement to the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (DED) for 12 months. The position was Senior Trade Advisor where assisted and coordinated the completion of Phase 1 & 2 of the DED’s Investment and Export Promotion Agency strategy including pre planning preparation for Phase 3 for both agencies. These agencies were two of several key economic development initiatives designed to deliver the goals and objectives of Abu Dhabi’s Economic 2030 Vision.

Senior Development Advisor for Lifesciences department for Enterprise Ireland. Enterprise Ireland is the government agency responsible for the development and promotion of the indigenous business sector. The agency mission is to accelerate the development of world-class Irish companies to achieve strong positions in global markets resulting in increased national and regional prosperity. Based in the Dublin head quarters responsible for a diverse portfolio of companies focused on growing businesses through exports. In this role, supported Irish companies via Enterprise Ireland financial and development programs as well as engaging with individual client companies to develop short, medium and long term strategies.

United States

Joining Enterprise Ireland America in 2003, appointed manager of the Boston office which included incubation facilities for Irish companies. The following are some of the responsibilities and tasks:-Manager of Enterprise Ireland e-learning portfolio.-Manager of Enterprise Ireland Medical Technologies portfolio.-Created market entry strategies for Irish companies & entrepreneurs entering the U.S. market. -Developed a series of workshops and networking events to assist, educate and accelerate the growth of Irish companies. -Founded Enterprise Ireland’s inaugural Medical Technologies Advisory Board.-Established links into key U.S. healthcare facilities, companies & universities such as Cleveland Clinic, Boston Scientific, St. Jude Medical, M.I.T. & Harvard. This included engaging with innovation centers and Investment Angel groups. -Represented Enterprise Ireland in engagement with U.S. Federal Government and State development agencies including, Massachusetts, California, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut and Ohio.-Created a strong network of industry, government, academic and venture capital contacts to assist Enterprise Ireland’s mission.
