I was responsible for learning 3GPP submitted spectrum plans, as well as future spectrum expansion globally. This research guided BlackBerry decisions on matters of device band support in FY2016 devices, as well as prototype devices scheduled to allow testing for concepts. It was integral in carrier discussions, vendor and supplier feedback, and allowing us to further understand emerging ecosystems.Starting in late January 2015, I was the interim Project Leader of an Advanced Concepts Device. Working closely with all facets of the team, I set a realistic schedule which reflected the needs of all teams to accomplish the goal. Worked with Chipset designers and helped troubleshoot system on a variety of planes. 2008 - January 2015:RF Technologist in Hardware Design, Verification with Software Control:- Designed custom Python OOC software to allow for a variety of RF measurements, including Load Pulling and Complex Power Amplifier Characterization. It used class-based interfaces to allow control of Agilent, Rhode&Schwarz, Anritsu and custom equipment, as well as store the data in a variety of manners (.csv, .xls, .txt, etc).- Performed Measurements in 2G GMSK, 2.5G EDGE, 3G UMTS, 4G LTE. Studied VO-LTE, LTE-A with Carrier Aggregation. - Designed System to Measure Total Radiated Power (TRP) and Total Isotropic Sensitivity (TIS) to meet CTIA specifications. This led to several patents on the concept of separating Antenna Gain and Sensitivity.
