Key responsibility was to drive positive safety culture change in AM; a project execution division of approx 200 employees plus up to 500 field contractors. Achievements:• Engaged with AM workforce to robustly demonstrate that there was a significant gap between the desired and actual Safety Culture.• Engaged multiple stakeholders to develop multi-year strategy for H&S performance improvement through culture change, structured around 4 core pillars.• Design, development and facilitation of 6-workshop series on Safety Culture Leadership.• Established continuous learning culture and achieved tripling of near miss reports within a 4 month period by developing and implementing an impactful campaign to engage and educate the workforce on the “what, why & how” of near miss reporting.• Compliance culture established and embedded via development and implementation of a systematic review & accountability process to track on-time closure of compliance actions. Overdue actions reduced from 70+ to 5 within 12 weeks of implementation.

Key accountability is to deliver engineering design scopes for national capital expenditure program of A$100 – A$180M annually, through an engineering team circa 60. In order to achieve this, the culture, organisational structure and ways of working of the Engineering Design Group were reviewed and transformation commenced.This role required strong focus on the culture of the Engineering Group and visible leadership to influence that culture. The initial focus was on establishing and fostering a culture of valuing every individual and team, empowerment and healthy open & honest dialogue. This then built an engaged team committed to shared goals.

Accountable for the provision of Engineering and Design services to the Australian Business Unit, reporting to both the Australian GM and the Global Technical Director (located in Aberdeen).This role is the Head of WoodGroup’s Australian Engineering function, consisting of approx 350 Engineers and Designers. The direct report group consisted of 10 Chief Engineers and Engineering Managers, making up the Australian Business Unit “Engineering Leadership Team” (ELT).Key achievement was leading the team on a culture change journey which resulted in a high impact team that was respected within the business, seen as adding value and actively included in decision making.
