As a twenty year veteran of secondary education, I have had the opportunity to witness first hand the transition from a traditional, paper driven industry, to a progressive, technology supported ecosystem . I am currently serving as a high school computer science teacher focusing on getting enrollment to be both growing and diverse. I have also driven the development of a district wide makerspace program, The Ashland Innovation Center, that serves students in grades 3-12 and is still expanding. Additionally, over the past four years, I have cultivated a relationship with Code.org, and have served as a facilitator in multiple CS programs through their PD outreach for teachers. Most recently, I have had the pleasure of leading facilitation in their brand new Computer Science Discoveries course.My professional goals revolve around improving education for all. I work diligently to stay current in technology and educational trends. Using this information I am able to share with others in and out of my district.
