Managed the Project Plan to exit the Jerry M. Consent Decree, significantly reducing court oversight; monitored key agency processes and systems for compliance with the work plan performance standards.Developed the agency's Performance Plan, Key Performance Indicators and Initiatives, working with key staff and Deputy Directors in each Division. Our team tracked, monitored, and provided reports as part of the annual Performance Management Cycle in the District of Columbia.In FY 2019 DYRS developed a multi-year Strategic Plan; the Office of Performance Improvement lead this process and incorporated milestones for completion, a communications plan, launch party and agency-wide accountability measures (using scorecards) help measure our success.The Office of Performance Improvement (OPI) promotes a culture of continuous improvement by providing oversight and technical assistance to critical agency operations and programs by reviewing and monitoring current practices to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures and agency goals.

Ensured the correct identification and tax classification of vacant buildings:•Scheduled over 6000 inspections and vacant building surveys annually•Reviewed and granted exemptions to over 2000 property owners each tax year•Prepared cases for hearings when owners appealed vacant or blight classification•Issued ‘Notices of Infraction’ to owners who failed to comply with registration requirements•Classified properties in accordance with Office of Tax and Revenue bi-annual tax cycleAdministered the Nuisance Abatement Program:•Supervised team of 4 surveyors who inspected 1000 properties monthly for nuisance violations•Supported a team of 10 field personnel who made properties safe and secure by abating violations•Created Statements of Work for abatement efforts requiring permits and outside contracting services•Provided program support to Mayoral Appointed Board that serves to make properties sound, secure and sanitary

•Created media opportunities, secured speaking events, and organized fundraising activities•Mobilized over 60 volunteers for voter registration, fundraising, and outreach campaigns•Collaborated with opponents’ campaigns and Baltimore Urban League to stage first 3-party debate in state history•Planned Unity Convention, a multi-party campaign fundraiser, with over ten prominent, progressive speakers to rally voters and “get out the vote”

•Coordinated board meetings, fundraising efforts, and maintained financial records;•Prepared Annual Report on outreach and advocacy efforts for distribution to donors and stakeholders;•Managed Corporate Reform Education Campaign with promotion of The People’s Business, a book about corporate power and strategies to curtail it; and •Organized Summer Speaker Series, featuring non-profit leaders, for summer interns in DC.

Managed day-to-day schedule for Presidential Candidate, Mr. Ralph Nader. •Prepared appointment calendar for events and made all travel arrangements; included daily operations at Headquarters, interaction with field teams, fundraising, and media;•Coordinated ballot access and voter outreach in over 40 states by mobilizing over 1800 volunteers; and •Crafted campaign messages for merchandise, website, emails, and fundraising letters.
