Main responsibilities:1. Event management: Provide full logistical support for the research Centre’s seminars, public lectures, workshops and conferences / symposiums by arranging for guests’ visas, accommodation and travelling, etc.2. Finance: manage Centre’s financial accounts by handling invoicing, reimbursements and issuing receipts; report Centre’s financial status to Director.3. Course admin.: assist in the Master of Laws LLM (T&IPL) program intensive courses.4. General admin.: provide full administrative support to Centre’s Directors and Faculty academic staff; supervise and work with Office Assistants.5. Enhance Centre’s profile: work with IT team to publicize Centre’s activities including the use of WordPress for Centre's website update and social media platforms.

This is a project-based job supported by GRF project funding. I worked with a PhD student of Professor Gary Biddle from HKU School of Business on project initiated by the renowned share market analyst, David Webb.Job duties:1. Participated in a research by mapping out the corporate ownership structure and extracting useful data of the substantial shareholders’ share interests of over 1,000 Hong Kong-listed companies.2. Verified data from corporate financial reports with the data from the HKEx website and public disclosures.3. Input data onto the "Webb site" operated by David Webb (https://webb-site.com/) for further analysis.

CHMB AM1320 is a Chinese radio station based in Vancouver, providing quality programmes in News as well as local and international policy analysis. Job duties:1. Marketing: Planned and arranged advertising contracts, schedules, and on-air interviews. Clients' accounts include non-profit organizations, private companies, media buyers, advertising agencies, etc.2. Business development: Liaised with existing clients and reached out to new clients for media sponsorship and business opportunities.3. Represented the company to attend press conferences and media events.4. General admin.: Provided administrative support such as writing up meeting minutes, press release, and translating documents for publishing.5. Worked under tight schedules and a dynamic and fast-paced office environmentBeing my first full-time job, this position was challenging yet very rewarding. It gave me great opportunities to develop my organizational, communicating, and administrative skills.

Under the supervision of 2 staff members at the BC Ministry of Environment, I conducted an individual research on the carbon-reduction technologies / practices currently adopted by oil and gas industries in the British Columbian (BC) province of Canada, the United Kingdom (UK) and Europe. I also produced an in-depth technical report that included comparisons of carbon-reduction initiatives in the aforesaid regions and made recommendations for the BC government regarding feasible solutions to reduce carbon emissions within BC oil and gas sector.
