I was provided a training opportunity with Field Programming Services. I had been given training materials to read and I completed those before joining the group. The Team Lead provided me with the same materials, and I told him that I had already completed them. He then turned to another programmer and had me start on live requests instead of training materials or training jobs to build. I became a full programmer in 2008 and continued programming until 2017. When the work was moved offshore in 2017, I was the last programmer and was tasked to shut down services onshore.

I monitored the HP Mainframe System. I swapped tapes and monitored for problems during System Processing. My first solo night,5 mirrored images went down. With the help of my corporate partners, we were able to get 3 mirrored images back working as expected. I then called in a CE to fix the last 2 images. Once they were fixed, I ran processing as quickly as I could. It finished at the last moment of alotted time. Then when the first shift Print Operator complained I did nothing on the Print side, I stayed 6.5 hours to complete all the print from over-night and also the 1st shift print.
