Manage CEPI’s Longitudinal Data Unit and oversee the visioning, design, development, and maintenance of the Michigan Statewide Longitudinal Data System (MSLDS) and activities surrounding analysis and reporting of the State of Michigan’s educational data. Lead a team of eighteen analysts, supervisors, and contracted resources for the development, delivery, and use of the MSLDS while providing coaching and mentoring. Ensured the quality of Michigan statewide assessment data released to the public and research institutions through data analysis and reporting to the testing vendor, school districts, and other offices in the department. Designed, and developed database solutions and data models for OEAA applications. Lead efforts to report assessment data required by the federal government as well as designed and executed data imports, exports, reports, and ad-hoc queries.• Incorporated a statewide student identifier on all state assessment data which enabled linking to other state datasets including the MSLDS• Developed methods for analyzing and identifying unethical testing practices using SQL queries against scored assessment data identifying school districts employing unethical practices• Analyzed and improved existing Department of Education databases for other offices• Led the departmental efforts for incorporation of assessment data in CEPI’s Data for Student Success education data platform which was eventually migrated to the MI School Data education data portal
