Responsible for the development and operation of the world's leading HSA administration platform. Oversaw technology growth supporting several thousand accounts to over 2.4 million accounts and asset management from $2M to $5B and growing HealthEquity as a Fin Tech company from startup to industry leader. Efforts included integration with 60+ health plan software systems for the exchange of enrollment, eligibility and claims data, and integration with banking systems for deposits, withdrawals and investments, all from disparate, often proprietary data formats. About 50% of current business came from the successful technology integration of three acquisitions of industry competitors. Primary differentiator is how the software enables key information to be available and usable to 24x7 customer service agents. Also responsible for aligning technology team members to business objectives, maintaining close relationships with internal operations experts, to define and build industry leading platform.

Designed and developed custom large enterprise internet applications that were tightly integrated with existing, proprietary business systems. Personally designed and implemented new portal for all Intermountain Health Care (IHC) insurance brokers to coordinate insurance sales, company renewals, new hires and terminations through paperless office solution, reducing sales costs at IHC by 25 percent for small Group and Individual business. Defined the strategy to move from paper/mail solution to entirely online solution, ultimately adopted as the exclusive enrollment system. Also implemented HIPAA compliant solution for online patient eligibility and claims reviews.

Developed commercial framework of e-commerce software components. Responsible for framework architecture and migration strategy of product from CORBA to J2EE distributed component model. Successfully identified evolving market needs and realigned products and services accordingly, including overhaul of company organizational structure. Responsible for creating a software product division in a company that historically only provided contract services. First product release led to $7M first year sales and acquisition offer of $60M by a major platform vendor.

Responsible for Novell’s Java infrastructure and the Open Solutions Architecture (OSA) SDK, an initiative designed to attract new developers to the NetWare platform. Product responsibility included Novell’s JVM, JIT, XWindows GUI, CORBA ORB, Trader and distributed object technologies including Java RMI and CORBA IIOP.
