Raising gees, ducks and chickens was another side activity to develop a symbiotic relation between land, animal and people. After finishing my studies as a product designer in Germany, I began the planning and fundraising for this project. The objective was to build a sustainable education garden for the children of the Snowland Ranag Light School of Education to fight malnutrition. A school garden provides benefits such as improving motor skills, a didactic approach to gardeing and, most importantly, additional food supply and production. As a result, the daily portion of rice and dhal (sauce made from pulses) could be prepared with additional vegetables and herbs. The whole project contained a series of sub-projects such as the construction of raised beds, seedling boxes, bamboo fences, education paper planting pots, a chicken coop for 25 chickens, water supply system and a bamboo roof-top structure.
