I work at the intersection of internet policy, law, and technology, motivated by the belief that an open, disruptive internet delivers tremendous socioeconomic benefits, and that if we as a global society don't work to protect and preserve the internet's core features, those benefits will go away. The internet ecosystem isn't perfect - but we have to be smart in how we address its problems, and continue to invest in its strengths.I'm creative and resourceful as a problem solver, and I work well as a cross-functional team collaborator. I’m a strong leader able to skillfully tap into others’ talents and ideas to cultivate team effort, with a focus on direction and strategy, building programs, and execution. I have a warm, sensitive communication style, and I easily build relationships and make lasting connections. As a manager, I view my job as providing inspiration and vision, removing roadblocks to set my team up for their individual successes and leadership, and measuring and telling the story of team impact.I am based in Tacoma, Washington, but my professional roots are in the San Francisco Bay Area and Washington, D.C. (and my personal roots lie in nearby West Virginia). My work today is global, because the internet is global - as are the forces that shape it, including the individual and collective actions of governments, businesses, and users.
