I have been part of the official Church board for just under one year, and have just recently (this year [2013]) been appointed the Church Secretary.The main responsibilities of being secretary include general business organisation of the church. I am responsible for chairing official board meetings, and ensure that the meeting keeps to the agenda, I am also responsible for creating the minutes and ensuring that everyone present receives an electronic and paper copy of the minutes in advance of the meeting. Also responsible for organisation of various events which are run throughout the year, such as booking tickets/transport for concerts, purchase goods for events, and recently organise our annual Church Fair, in which I had to procure banners, flyers, advertisements and delegate various tasks to individuals that were willing to help. Also work in a team with other board members to ensure that any work needed done within the property is sorted out as soon as possible, which requires effective communication with other members.I have gained a large amount of knowledge and leadership skills whilst undertaking this role mainly that of chairing meetings and delegating tasks to others to ensure all events/projects are completed effectively and efficiently. Being on the Church board has allowed me to gain an insight of how and what is needed to run a business and understand that effective communication between all members is key to ensure that projects are completed.

As a sales assistant the main aspects of the job involve selling various sporting goods to customers. This requires the best customer service skills of my ability, and being able to handle large amount of customers in a short space of time. Also trained on tills so have a good knowledge with handling cash and ensuring customers are given correct service. Have been responsible for closing the department at end of shift and ensure staff are doing correct job and performing to high standard.Also have had the opportunity to open new Sports Direct stores over the country, and heavily involved with setting up the new stores. I was responsible for creating the 'running footwear' and 'football boot' department, this meant I had to ensure all products were placed in the correct position and that my layout would be 'easy on the eyes' of customers.
