I am a Chartered Architectural Technologist (MCIAT) with 25 years of professional experience, and a wide range of skills who always perseveres to achieve the best result. Able to prepare architectural designs, detailed technical drawings, collect and analyse information available and develop an effective solution to complex technical issues. I have excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to manage and complete complex projects to the highest standards with attention to detail and within agreed deadlines.Since graduating from the University of Strathclyde in 1997 with an honours degree in Architectural Studies I have worked as an Architectural Technician and Architectural Technologist in both the public and private sectors as well as running my own practice, Forth Architecture for eight years. I have gained considerable experience of managing all stages of building projects and have developed an extensive range of contacts. My portfolio is known for its variety and in addition to a number of bespoke residential extensions in Scotland includes work to a number of stately homes and iconic buildings in and around the South of England including the Natural History Museum in London and the Empire and Commonwealth Museum in Bristol.

Working within Falkirk Council's Development Services as an Architectural Technician I was responsible for researching, designing and managing projects involving the construction, extension or refurbishment of educational buildings within the Falkirk area. In addition I researched and provided information on developments in construction methods that are environmentally friendly, energy efficient and sustainable.I was a key member of “The Asbestos Management Working Group” at Falkirk Council which was established to manage and review Falkirk Council policies for working with asbestos containing materials to ensure uniformity across all services.

My role at the the Metal Window Company as Technical Designer involved the use of AutoCAD to produce design drawings for the product and designs relating to building alterations for specialist installations, at times in public buildings.Whilst working for the Metal Window Company I also played a significant role in successfully creating and launching a new corporate identity together with initiating and managing the design department which increased productivity.
