About Simon Mcintyre Pfhea

Professor Simon McIntyre is the Director of Educational Innovation at UNSW Sydney and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA). An award-winning educator, he is passionate about advancing the student learning experience through high-impact, pedagogically driven use of emerging technologies in education. Simon employs a design-led, data-informed approach to innovation - driving the integration of artificial intelligence, immersive experiences, and digital technologies to personalise learning and elevate the quality and relevance of the student experience.Simon’s international work also includes leading widely recognised open education initiatives, such as the multi-award-winning Learning to Teach Online MOOC and other courses on transmedia storytelling and future work design. These courses have helped thousands of educators worldwide develop high-quality online teaching practices and have been embraced across diverse educational contexts.Simon’s vision is to continue to build capability and inspire an innovative mindset in others, to uncomplicate technology for educators, and reimagine the future of learning to meet the evolving needs of students and staff alike.
