Profile bio

About Christoffer Jönsson

Fast learning, hardworking, analytical and logical generalist that delivers high quality results in time.I primarily work with Windows Server based environments leveraging the roles and features within Windows Server to deliver everything from core infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, DCHP and file access to more advanced purpose specific solutions.I also focus heavily on scripting, automation, standardization, using known best practices, logic and structure in combination with a passion for proper documentation of the IT systems and methods used. PowerShell scripting and management has become one of my new favorite tools and I always try to develop my scripts and methods so that they can scale up to 1000+ users/computers without requiring extra effort.I also have the ability to ingest large amounts of information very quickly, review, analyze and process it which helps me in quickly learning new things but also in understanding systems and problems on a logical level even if I don't necessarily know it on a technical level.Lately I have been working more towards learning and working with Microsoft Cloud services (Office 365, Azure) in combination with on-premises Windows Server infrastructure. I think this in combination with strong PowerShell knowledge is the way forward.

Listed skills include Active Directory, Windows Server, System Administration, Kaseya, and 33 others.

(Carl Lamm was acquired by Ricoh in 2009)During my time at Ricoh I have slowly progressed from the IT Consultant role to more of a back-end support and operations role within the organization where I have used a combination of all the skills I've learned over the years and put into use in managing and developing customer and internal systems and business processes. One of the bigger projects that I have been in charge of is our European IT Management systems platform. Myself and a colleague have been working on this from day one and been heavily involved in the design, development, implementation, documentation, maintenance and upgrades of the system over the years. The systems platform is based around Windows Server core infrastructure with back-end SQL database servers and front-end IIS web servers. It also includes a dedicated test environment and a staging environment (reduced clone copy of production). The environment supports over a dozen European companies within Ricoh with their IT Management systems platform. This system and the projects around it has leveraged and improved most of my skills in IT and has been on-going for the past 6 years or so.I've also been responsible for our internal technical documentation system (Confluence). Managing it, creating documentation templates, reviewing and approving other peoples documentation before hand-off to operations etc.In combination with that I have also developed and implemented several business improvement processes on a local, regional and national scale.

(Saldab was acquired by Carl Lamm in 2006)During my time at Carl Lamm I progressed from being the newbie Junior to taking on bigger and more advanced projects and customers. One of the first things I was given responsibility over was the internal IT systems (everyone's favorite thing to manage ;) ).I also spent some part-time in the 1st line Help Desk taking calls and handling tickets which is always an "experience". But you do learn a lot and you also get to learn how to interact with and understand customers and their frustration.I then moved on to being an IT Consultant where I did on-site maintenance, projects, assisted customers with developing their systems and solutions etc.Pretty early on I was asked to take over one of the bigger customer accounts we had, which was (or is), one of Sweden’s biggest online retailers. The task suited me perfectly as it involved configuring and improving their EDI back-end system. Basically all of the order files generated from the website going back and forth to their different warehouses and partners. This was accomplished using the software called "AutoMate" which I enjoyed working with a lot! This allowed me to use my sense of logic, coding experience and attention to detail to make sure things did what they were supposed to do, when they needed to be done and with very high reliability. All the while running on a Windows Server systems platform to provide the necessary underlying infrastructure and services.I improved the existing scripts (which were fairly simple, move "file A" to "warehouse B") by implementing logging, error levels, sub-routines as well as alert functions, retries etc.Overall I think the system ran a couple of hundred if not thousands of jobs a day with a 99.9% success rate.

Internship (It)

Saldab Ab

Malmo, Sweden

During my first time as an intern at Saldab I basically just went on ride-a-longs with the IT Consultants when they went out on-site to the customers. Learning by watching and sometimes also by participating taught me a lot as I am a very quick learner, so seeing something done once, and doing it myself once usually means I can then repeat the process from there on as needed.Later on I moved on to assisting with actual customer projects. I recall during my last few weeks as an intern (right before I was employed) I assisted with building together two full 42U HP racks with HP blade chassis fully loaded with blades, switches and firewalls. I took part in most of the build from unboxing the servers to installing additional internal components to mounting and configuring the hardware in the racks.I also performed most of the cabling for the rack, labeling and documentation which the customer was very satisfied with thanks to my attention to detail and organizational skills.

Not really much to say about my time at Latinskolan, I was a pretty average student. I chose a generic major/minor ("Samhällsprogrammet.
