I design and build platform solutions that power our user experiences. I work across several teams on different initiatives. Responsibilities include breaking down complex problems, defining and building consensus on the vision and direction of our platform, full-stack implementation, and I help to support a large developer community. A big part of my job.

• Technical leader for the web application platform team. We defined the vision for how web applications were developed at HomeAway/Vrbo. We built and maintained the core node libraries, tools for the developer.
• Defined many standards and patterns for how product teams built applications
• Maintained our node module and hapi js plugin ecosystem that enables app dev at scale
• Working across product, platform, and support teams to implement shared goals
• Support hundreds of developers and facilitate their work on a daily basis
• Set the vision and goals for the team, and communicate upward and outward to the company

• As an early adopter of react, redux, and tools like webpack, I helped move HomeAway into a new era of web application development.
• Created the architecture for our react component library
• Built out the default node/react application scaffolding used on dozens of applications in production
• Configured webpack, babel, jest, and npm scripts for solid developer experience in said scaffolding
• Built several advanced reusable react UI components including the Calendar, DatePicker, and Form Components

• Built checkout experience for owners to list properties on over 15 HomeAway brands.
• Support for multiple languages, currencies, and global payment types
• Rebuilt a simplified and responsive checkout experience in react/redux using mobile-first practices
• Built the UI for the digital wallet
• Designed and built a new web application and UI for the in-house translation engine

I started at projekt202 as the first and only design technologist. I brought strong WPF skills to the studio. My responsibilities were around building prototypes and delivering front-ends in WPF, Silverlight, and Flex. When development work was slow I also contributed Visual Design and Interaction Design to the current projects.

Charles Schwab engaged with projekt202 on the design and front-end development of their flagship trading application, Street Smart Edge. I worked onsite, 1-2 days a week writing/architecting UI code and providing front-end development support to their staff engineers.

The goal of this self designed role was to improve the efficiency of the 2D department. I was part of the production "Think Tank" representing the 2D artists and their workflow concerns. The second main aspect of this position was designing and overseeing the User Interface overhaul of the in-house compositing software and the Flipbook viewer and analysis.
