Caroline McKay is the founder of caro., a boutique creative agency based in New York City that is committed to helping every brand channel and harness its most authentic voice. She is also the founder of RAYU, a women-owned eCommerce and accessories company that empowers creators in Latin America by providing fair compensation for their craftsmanship. Caroline has also spent time as an ESL teacher, educating refugees from Bhutan, Sudan, Nepal and Burma.After years of working as an acting account director for a boutique PR and creative agency in Manhattan, McKay learned that whether it was hospitality, food, fashion, design, or lifestyle, small and large brands alike have the same problem: They need to get clear on their story, get it in front of the right people, and get it to stick with current and potential audiences, alike. With years of hands-on experience, McKay has crafted strategies from top to bottom, specializing in a holistic approach that emphasizes media relations, press outreach, strategic partnerships, community events, and social media. McKay took this expertise with her when she moved from New York to Los Angeles to open the firm’s West Coast office. While there, she brought in and managed a full roster of exclusive clients while continuing to grow and expand the firm’s bi-coastal, boutique footprint.Once she had solidified the firm’s space in Los Angeles, she returned to New York to take a position as an in-house Communications Manager for Soho House’s North American properties, including the Houses, bedrooms, public restaurants, and in-house brands, Soho Home and Soho Works. Now, at caro., McKay still hand-picks all of the clients, guaranteeing the right fit and that the relationship is one that will be ongoing, meaningful, unique, and truly tailored to meet each brand’s purpose, goals, and mission.Caroline has a Bachelor degree in Sociology from Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania.
