During my internship at Buchanan Construction, I gained practical experience in the design and construction field. My responsibilities included attending client meetings, assisting with FF&E selection, conducting site visits, and preparing presentations. I contributed to spatial solutions and coordinated with local communities to ensure building compliance. I was also responsible for organizing project files, making sure everything ran smoothly. This hands-on experience gave me a deeper understanding of the industry while enhancing my communication and problem-solving skills.While studying at SCAD, I worked in the service industry throughout my academic journey, where I honed my time management, people skills, and problem-solving abilities. Juggling a rigorous workload taught me how to thrive in fast-paced environments, prioritize tasks effectively, and communicate clearly with diverse teams and customers. Working in retail, fine dining, a coffee shop, and cocktail bars gave me a well-rounded perspective of customers' needs and the different facets of teamwork.Throughout my years at SCAD, I developed a solid foundation in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Rhino. My internship allowed me to further refine my proficiency in these programs, particularly in 3D modeling and presentation design, while the service industry sharpened my ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines. I feel strong in my ability to adapt and learn any new program and navigate new work environments with ease. Besides my technical skills, I'm confident that I have grown into an empathetic, proactive, detail-oriented, driven and resilient person.
