Hi my name is McKenna Blize! I am a current senior at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego California working on achieving my bachelors in Applied Health Science. I aspire to one day become a physical therapist after achieving my DPT degree. Through my experience in sports and kinesiology related classes, I have always had an interest and passion for movement related sciences. As a physical therapist I want to help others be able to achieve their movements goals in order to live life with limited boundaries and pain. I have over 100 hours of volunteer experience working under a physical therapist in a physical therapy clinic, which has provided me with a good foundation of how to be a supportive and effective health care provider, as well as knowledge concerning my future career. I have also worked as a childcare worker, a preschool aid, and a director of youth ministries at my home tome church for the past 5 years. Through my years of working with kids and then eventually getting promoted to my job as a coordinator, I have gained many skills and experience. I possess the ability to effectively communicate with others well in a work environment, as well as have high problem solving, leadership, and organizational skills. I feel specifically called to work in pediatric physical therapy, helping children achieve their movement goals and be able to live their life despite any inabilities. I hope to blend my love for movement science and children into my career to help others live to their greatest potential. I understand the importance of helping others in our communities as well as helping others around the world, so I am open to all formats of physical therapy setting, willing to work in a clinical environment in my community or even going abroad as a physical therapist.
