I was selected for two separate Rutgers Writing Center Programs: the Writing Theory & Pedagogy Internship and the Decolonization Internship. As a Writing Theory intern, I examined shortcomings in writing instruction at the university. I worked as a team to use historical data and modern trends to identify solutions that better support Rutgers students. Following this internship, I developed my personal teaching pedagogy and the values most important to my teaching. As a Decolonization intern, I worked with other students to create research and create strategies that make the Rutgers Writing Center a more inclusive space that values diversity in academia.
