I have worked as a swimming coach, lifeguard, and Head Lifeguard at multiple pools and clubs. I have done this on a seasonal, as-needed, and part-time basis. I apply the knowledge I gained as a collegiate athlete to provide guidance to others at every level of their own journeys. I am passionate about helping others to meet their goals and have found coaching to be a positive way to do so. I continue to coach athletes individually and as part of small groups through their own milestones.A few of my results during this time were:• Serve as the Head Lifeguard with direct leadership over the lifeguard and admin staff.• Coached, motivated, and instructed people of all abilities and backgrounds.• Demonstrated methods with a hands-on approach to maximize engagement with information.

As a teaching assistant, I worked part-time through my master’s program with the Biology department. I supported multiple professors with varying requirements in their courses as the leader of the lab components. I applied my scientific knowledge and research experience to guide others throughtheir own experiments. I also assisted in the assessment of the learner’s progress by administering evaluations and providing tutoring.Some of my accomplishments in this role included:• Led multiple labs each semester for biology and non-biology majors.• Administered lab and written assessments to monitor learner progress.• Synthesized complex technical information into understandable material as an instructor.• Reported to leadership regularly with updates on the lab operations and participant progress.

I served as a microbiology prep technician as part of the academic laboratory. I did this on a part-time basis while also completing my master’s degree and serving as a teaching assistant. My role included performing testing and data interpretation to support the ongoing experiments. I also filled in wherever needed during this time to support the operations of the laboratory and its leadership.Results during this time were:• Interfaced with high level decision makers internally and externally to drive results.• Designed and continuously improved the processes to support key accounts at varying stages.• Influenced up and across the matrixed enterprise to provide quality customer experiences.

In my last year at UMN-Morris I worked in the Denton Lab studying amphibians. I specifically was working on understanding parasitic loads between two species of tree frogs, H. versicolor and H chrysoscelis. I gained experience scouting for and capturing frogs as well as dissection and parasite counting.

During my summer experience as a UREP student hired by LUPUS LINK. I studied systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) novel treatments by understanding immune cell metabolism and how altering metabolic processes may slow disease progression. I gained experience in flow cytometry, animal handling, and experimental planning.
