Every year, one student from each CSU is nominated by their university president to participate in this congressional public policy training. Through this internship, I learn about the inner-workings of public policy through experts in their field, public servants, professors, researchers, and governmental officials. I speak with and analyze the work of dozens of revolutionary leaders such as Secretary Leon Panetta, Secretary John Laird, Secretary Jeh Johnson, Dr. Eddie Glaude, Admiral William McRaven, and many more. The capstone project will consist of an 80 page seminar analysis and a 20 page research composition focused on one issue that can be resolved through effective legislation.
