Quinn McKenna is the Chief Operating Officer for Stanford Health Care, a leading academic medical center that has repeatedly been ranked in the top 10 of the best hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Stanford Health Care is well known for advanced patient care, particularly for the treatment of rare and complex diseases and disorders in areas such as cardiovascular health, cancer, neurosciences, and other surgical services. Prior to coming to Stanford, McKenna was the Chief Operating Officer for the University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics in Salt Lake City, Utah.McKenna has almost 30 years of leadership experience in a variety of health care organizations. His career has emphasized strategic program development and operational accountability. In his current role as a member of the executive team at Stanford Health Care, he is responsible for the development and implementation of operational strategies that ensure the ongoing financial success of the organization and to fulfill its safety, satisfaction, and quality priorities.Throughout his career, McKenna has served in senior executive positions in a variety of organizations. He was the Chief Operating Officer for the University of Washington and for Iasis Healthcare. Prior to these roles, McKenna served as operations administrator with the Sisters of Providence. Early in his career, McKenna served for 10 years as a management consultant to more than a dozen of the country’s premier academic medical centers.Most recently, McKenna has been named one of Modern Healthcare magazine’s 2017 Top 25 COOs in Healthcare.McKenna earned his Master of Health Administration from the University of Washington and also has a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance from Utah State University, as well as a minor in Economics.
