I have worked at the local cancer facility for 6 years. I started as a referral coordinator and now hold to position of office supervisor. I am very passionate about the work that we do because we are providing a local speciality service to patients in a rural community that are going through a very difficult and scary time. We do our best to bring a calming presence and make sure that during this time our patients are well cared for through the duration of their treatments. As a supervisor I strive to lead a front office that is hard working, dependable, empathetic and friendly with the best patient care at the forefront. I lead by example and I do everything in my power to help grow my employees. I think it is important to fully understand the work that your employees do day in and day out so that when changes are necessary you account for how it will affect your team. When these changes are necessary I do a lot of research before I make any decision and I look at the big picture to see how this will affect other departments or current work flows. Lastly, I strive to have an open door policy with my employees and I feel that I am a great listener. I may not have the power to change everything that my employees want, but I listen to their questions and concerns and I acknowledge them and I do what I can to resolve them.
