As a collegiate student-athlete I was able to connect hands-on with various Doctors, Trainers, and Coaches on staff and discuss current trends in treatment for chronic traumatic encephalopathy and traumatic brain injuries and the progress being made to keep athletes healthy. My interest and knowledge in sports led me to want to study biology and psychology as a multidisciplinary undergraduate at the University of New Mexico.For my graduate studies, I transitioned my focus to biomechanics while I worked in the Pathomechanics & Neuroimaging Laboratory under the guidance of Dr. Edward Ofori. I have completed my MS degree in May 2022 with a thesis project investigating the relationship between all shoulder injuries and rotator cuff injuries in MLB pitchers from the 2015-2021 seasons. Presently, I seek to use my knowledge of sports biomechanics and data science to provide interventions and training programs for these athletes.
