My work building the field of impact investing focused on investment due diligence for both grants and for-profit deals in organizations that support the growth of the impact investing market, collaborating across Omidyar Network and with external partners to develop and publish thought leadership for the field, and supporting other efforts to advance the impact investing movement. Omidyar Network was created by Pierre and Pam Omidyar on the heels of eBay’s successful IPO. It is a philanthropic investment firm - a hybrid structure that allows us to deploy extremely flexible capital towards our mission, from for-profit investments seeking market-rate returns to grants to non-profits, and everything in between. To date, Omidyar Network has made more than $1B in total investments. True to our origins in Silicon Valley, most of our for-profit investments are in early-stage equity investments in innovations with the potential for impact at scale.

As CEO of the Fletcher Social Investment Group (FSIG), I worked with a small management team to oversee the work of 70+ Fletcher students providing advisory services to social enterprises and due diligence support to local angel investors and coordinated efforts to implement operational improvements and increase FSIG’s brand awareness in the greater social impact community. Also through FSIG, I led Fletcher's five-person MIINT team to a second-place win, earning the company we pitched $25K in funding towards their open round. I also participated in the CFA Institute Equity Research Challenge, where as part of a five-person team, I conducted research to value a public company and make an investment recommendation. As Research Assistant to Dean, Admiral James Stavridis, I helped develop syntheses of current events in international politics and conducting research on relevant topics to assist the Dean in developing presentations, opinion editorials, and other speaking materials. During this time I also helped research, draft and edit Dean Stavridis' book, Sea Power.

Managed project operations for a 150+ person project delivery team. Responsibilities and accomplishments include developing a multi-variable forecasting model to predict staffing needs based on a target project end date or estimate project end date based on fixed staff levels; automating invoice generation to reduce the time to generate weekly invoices by 30%; implementing workflow management tools across multiple work streams; and designing and delivering a multi-step on-boarding process for new team members, which included a two-day training delivered to 250+ cumulative team members and was used to develop a core training module implemented across three similar engagements of 1500+ total people.On other projects, my responsibilities included redeveloping a financial tracking system used to monitor over USD $14 M in annual funding across 15+ IT investment projects at a government agency, decreasing the monthly reporting cycle timeline by nearly 25%.
